Here's a list of the tunes I've written myself, in alphabetical order, along with a short commentary for each. More to come as I write them! *Edit: I've taken off all but the tunes I've really liked, or thought were pretty good.*

Originally called "The Dinner Reel", because I wrote it over dinner, but that name didn't sound good to me, so I changed it to "After The Storm" because the melody makes me think of how I feel after a storm is over. You can also find this tune here.(So you know, I'm "JosephofCK" on thesession) This is my favorite of my tunes, and, in my opinion, the only one that sounds fairly traditional.

I love this weird little tune of mine, it's kind of a cross between "Popcorn Behavior", "Wizard's Walk", and some kind of Middle-East song. I wanted something really weird one day, and this is what came out. Named after the first object I saw when I was going to name it.

I know, "What's with the name?". Well, one day when we were going to have some kind of BBQ dish, my mom mentioned needing to boil it, and I responded with "So, you're going to boil the cow?" for no apparently coherent reason. After that I thought, "Hm, 'Boil the Cow'... that could make an interesting tune...". When I made this tune, I couldn't decide what to call it, and ended up calling it this. Inspired by "The Mason's Apron", though it sounds absolutely nothing like it.

Written for a friend of mine with the last name of "Eng". Another of my earlier compositions, but one of the only ones I like. Unfortunately, the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th bars of the second phrase sound almost identical to Gian Marco's "Arianna's Tower". Strangely, I had never heard his tune before in my life until almost a year after I wrote this tune...
Here's the version that's more suited to fiddle, as arranged by James O'Connor, who plays fiddle in our group:

I wrote this tune I think last night (Jan. 29th, 2008), while eating some kind of coco-hazelnut spread similar to Nutella... Sort of in honor of how amazing that stuff is... "Slip....reel?" I know... I discovered this tune type on someone's (I forget who's, now) profile on thesession.org, and figured I should have one at some point. Very repetitive, but kind of catchy... I really like this one. Inspired by a video of some jigs done on uilleann pipes by Zac Leger, and I wanted something nice and driving like that. I'm not sure if I did that, but this did fit nicely with my wanting to use some more passive guitar chords in a jig I've written. I believe the title means "You have a beautiful smile", or something to that effect. Not sure if it fits the tune, I suppose, but oh well! This tune is my more modern one... and craziest one... this should be called "Toss The Competence" really... It is meant to be played on whistle, as all the notes are playable, though it would sound better on a fiddle, if any were brave enough for those high notes... The 4th (out of 7...) phrase is optional, but I wanted that synchopation in there. It seems to be in a Phrygian key instead of minor, any ideas what it is?. The name... I think it came about because I wrote it around a time where I thought for sure I was going to run away from home. Ha, not sure where that idea came from, but at least it got me this fun tune here.

Written one day because I wanted something in Bmixolydian. Somewhat repetitive, really, but I like it. It sounds pretty cool in Bdorian, too.

This tune is meant to be played slow on low F whistles, and is more of a sad tune. Written when I was feeling very scared.

Just because I wanted something in 7/8. Works in Gmajor, and Cminor (some kind of phrygian mode in this case, actually, but phrygian doesn't work in most ABC programs).

This tune popped out of me before heading out to my friends Court of Honor. I really like it, and he did too, despite the fact that the first phrase has 6 bars, and bits of 9/8 in it. The name... Well, a semi-former-band member recently moved to Ireland, and we knew nothing about it, and one of us was lending him a music book, and I may be wrong, but I think I had loaned him something, too....

Inspired by Flook!'s "Peter Street", more to use some of the progressions in it.

This tune started from my misreading some large abbreviation someone had on their Facebook.com page, thinking it was ABC, and it went from there.

Another tune that came out one day, and was probably inspired in the second part by Flook. I've been getting into that group's music a lot recently.

A fun little reel I wrote the first part to the other day after having some fun times with the some Caryn that two other tunes on here have been written for. The second part was added later.
